What is CXT?

Carbon Exercise Testing (CXT) is a physician supervised test devised to assess a member’s level of fitness and health. Based on their results, each member is awarded a color-coded wristband. Each test helps our fitness professionals identify a member’s strengths and weaknesses in order to set on-going individual fitness and health goals.

Using six-specific testing modalities, we assess a member’s:

  • FLEXIBILITY

  • BALANCE

  • AGILITY

  • MUSCULAR STRENGTH

  • MUSCULAR ENDURANCE

  • CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE

What is the meaning of the wristbands and why do you use them?

Drawing from the martial arts world, we’ve devised a color-coded wristband ranking system as a visible, fun, and effective way of tracking a member’s progress through our functional fitness program.

THE MEANING OF EACH BAND

WHITE:

White signifies a birth, or beginning, of a seed. A white band member is a beginner, who has taken the first step to improve his/her life. The white band is the beginning of their life's cycle, and represents the seed as it lies beneath the snow in the winter.

YELLOW:

Yellow signifies the first beams of sunlight, which shines upon the seed giving it new strength to continue on their journey to a healthy life.

ORANGE:

Orange represents the growing power of the sun as it warms the earth to prepare for new growth in the spring. At this point, the member is starting to feel his/her body and mind open and develop.

BLUE:

Blue signifies the blue sky as the plant continues to grow towards it. The member is now moving up higher in rank with an increased knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses. The light feeds the plant so it can continue to grow.

RED:

Red signifies the red-hot heat of the Sun as the plant continues growing toward it. The member is now beginning to help others advance to their next level through encouragement and teaching.

BLACK:

Black signifies the darkness beyond the Sun. As black band member, he/she now seeks the never-ending process of self-growth, knowledge, and fitness level.
