ABOUT

Belotero Balance is a superficially injected dermal filler that quickly integrates with your skin filling in fine facial wrinkles.

Over time, our skin loses its youthful appearance as the production of its natural support structure diminishes! Made predominantly of hyaluronic acid (commonly referred to as "HA"), these structures begin to disappear, resulting in wrinkles you can see and feel.

While Belotero Balance is made of the same material (hyaluronic acid) as some of our other dermal fillers, Belotero Balance has unique properties that allows for a softer correction of visible fine lines in the little nooks and crannies around the eyes, above the lip and around the mouth.

Frequently asked questions

What is Belotero Balance?

Belotero Balance is an injectable filler that is used to smooth moderate-to-severe etched-in lines and wrinkles on your face. Upon injection, it quickly and evenly integrates into your skin.

Is Belotero Balance the same as Botox?

No, Belotero acts in a totally different way. It fills in areas within the skin to reduce the depth of wrinkles, lines, and folds. The skin remains mobile and flexible, with a natural look, feel, and movement.

What is the difference between Belotero and other dermal fillers?

Belotero is a hyaluronic acid injectable filler designed to integrate into facial skin tissue. The unique manufacturing process for Belotero yields a soft and cohesive gel that, once injected, instantly fills the skin to help smooth fine lines and wrinkles. While the product is versatile enough to handle moderate nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), we believe it is an ideal option for treating delicate areas such as vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above and around the lips) and eye trough (area under the eyes).

How soon can I expect results with Belotero?

Immediately upon treatment, Belotero helps smooth etched-in lines and wrinkles, such as vertical lip lines above and around your lips and under the eyes.

How long does Belotero last?

Individual results may vary, but Belotero may last about 6 months or more. Some factors that affect how long it lasts are the amount of product used and the area it is injected into. In areas that experience a lot of movement due to eating, talking, and smiling, the product may not last as long as other less active areas.

pre + post care

Before Belotero Treatment

  • No anti-inflammatory drugs (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Vioxx, etc.), aspirin, high doses of Vitamin E, or Ginko Biloba one week prior to treatment. This will reduce the possible side effects of bruising and/or swelling in the treated area(s).

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages prior to treatment can increase the chances of bruising and/or swelling.

  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding to receive treatment.

  • If you have a history of oral herpes, you must pre-treat with an anti-viral three days before your scheduled visit.

After Belotero Treatment

  • Swelling, redness, and tenderness can occur after your treatment and usually resolves within 72 hours.

  • Cold compresses (a cloth dipped in cold water, wrung out, and applied to the injected area) may be used immediately aftertreatment to reduce swelling.

  • Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours of treatment so you do not accidentally injure your skin. After that, the area can be gently washed with soap and water.

  • Until there is no redness or swelling, avoid exposure of the treated area to intense heat (sun lamp or sun bathing) or extreme cold weather.

  • If you have suffered previously from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another occurrence.

  • Avoid taking aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s wort, and high doses of Vitamin E supplements for one week after treatment. These agents may increase the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

  • Avoid aesthetic lasers, microdermabrasion, or IPL over areas with JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel for a minimum of one week after treatment.

Follow Up Belotero Treatment

  • Follow up treatments should be scheduled usually every six months.

  • Consistent repeated treatments will produce best resolution of wrinkles.
